About

Welcome to the wonderful world of fables and fairytales. While getting an MA in Spanish I discovered the joys and frustrations of translation and the wonderful stories captured by Cecilia Böhl de Faber, known under her pseudonym Fernán Caballero. Famous for her novels, little known are her tales, which she claimed were recorded versions of the oral tradition of storytelling focusing especially on Andalusia, Spain. Much like the Grimm’s fairytales, of which she was a fan, and other stories from the 19th Century; these tales include magical objects, talking animals, enchanted places, princes and princesses, and moral lessons. I want to bring these tales, and whatever more I find along the way, to light for those like me, who LOVE a good story.
